SRC/Clock
If you are happy with the upgrade products for the DCX2496 made available by Pilgham Audio so far, you might be also interested in the work of Frank Oettle. We are proud to offer you the SRC/clock mod designed by him as built units or as true DIY kit.
The SRC/clock board is a replacement for the on-board sample rate converter and the high jitter clock of the Behringer DCX2496. It provides an ultra low jitter master clock, improved sample rate conversion and fixes the problems with the standard used CS8420. The sporadically occurring"dull sound" problem of the digital input is completely solved. The board has on board ultra low noise, ultra high PSRR voltage supplies.
Some facts and figures?
- Ultra low jitter synchronous master clock (2.6 p Sec. @ 10Hz-20MHz).
- 100% synchronous operation of PLL, SRC, DSP and DACs .
- Improved 2nd generation sample rate converter (SRC) with 142 dB signal-to-noise and dynamic range and linear phase FIR Filter.
- Sample rates from 32 kHz to 178 kHz (automatically sensed).
- Supports AES and S/PDIF inputs.
- Two on-board ultra high PSRR (110 dB @10Hz-20kHz) and very low noise(18µV)
voltage supplies.
A few remarks have to be made.
Modifying existing equipment such as the Behringer DCX2496 will void any original manufacturers warranty.
This kit is not difficult to build and install. If you have reasonable (SMD) soldering skills and are willing to work accurately, you will have no problems to complete it. But bear in mind this is an all SMD project. This double side board only measures only 27x 28mm! If you do feel uncomfortable you posses the qualities to successfully end this project please do ask someone to help you who does.
Of course besides all the parts needed it comes with the printed version of the documentation made available by Frank.
